Tata Steel reported a 112% jump in its consolidated net profit for the third quarter ended December 2010 due to a sharp rise in demand and firm product prices. According to information posted on the Bombay Stock Exchange and on the company's website, reported a net profit of 1,003 crore in the Oct-December period. It had a profit of 473 crore last year.
