U.S. stocks advanced Wednesday, as a more optimistic view of what Japan’s future rebuilding means for the global economy overrode concerns about a troubled U.S. housing market and higher oil prices.
“Because they [the Japanese] are going to have to rebuild, it is going to add to the overall expansion,” said Robert Pavlik, chief market strategist at Banyan Partners.
